when i hear white people say “i am 1/16th cherokee” like they are apart of this culture and it allows them to appropriate it just makes me want to stick my fist into a blender
I disagree - and as usual will make a comment on this topic.
I have a cultural heritage however, I in no way look the part in my colouring. Some of my features - yes but it’s hard to see behind the white skin and the blondish hair. I don’t know what ‘percentage’ my blood is. It doesn’t matter to me. I actually think I am 1/16th native. It in no way makes me identify any less with my culture - it’s who I am.
No one else gets to decide this for me based on my ‘percentage’ or because I’m not brown and no one gets to take my identity away from me because they disagree with it. It is my choice to identify with where I’ve come from - and that, is a direct lineage from what would be considered ‘royalty’ in the tribal social structure that existed before colonisation.

Lol. I’m not very interesting!!! But yay! I’m one of your favourites :D
1 - I am a massive geek and find stupid things interesting like roads and sumps and storm water channels.
2 - I have 4 older sisters and no brothers. I’m the youngest.
3 - I don’t eat fruit. At all. But I love most Veges.
4 - My favourite colour is forest green but it’s almost impossible to find it anywhere.
5 - I would one day like to live on a farm. With sheep.
